How To Use Social Media for Coaching and Counseling: 5 Tips To Double Your Website Traffic
This week’s post is going to be a content-rich, highly-actionable article. I’m going to give you some great tips on how to use social media to boost your coaching or counseling practice or business. I am one of the rare coaches who love marketing and consequently excel at it. So you are in good hands.
But the fact is, you won’t be able to help very many people if they don’t know about you and can’t find you. Enter social media: today’s most targeted yet versatile method of networking.
The tactics I’m going to give you here are going to require that you have a website. If you don’t have one yet, you can get started by purchasing a domain name, hosting and easy website builder at our preferred hosting company: http://heavenly-hosting.com
(To offer complete transparency, Heavenly-Hosting is a part of Beautiful Life International LLC. It’s a small division of what we do, that we are extraordinarily proud of because of their superior products and 24-7 support.)
In this article I am going to give you social media tips that can help you double the traffic to your website in 30 to 60 days if you work consistently. Once visitors arrive at your website, it’s up to you to convert that traffic into followers, and ultimately clients or customers. (Conversion is a separate and important topic that we’ll save for another time.) But first, we need to get more eyeballs to your website.
The number 1 way to drive traffic to your website today is to create a high level of engagement on social media and really nurture those relationships. The more your ideal target gets to know you and like you, the more likely they are to hire you.
So here are 5 social media tips to dramatically boost your traffic
Be sure to brand your images with your logo and URL. Some people prefer to use a watermark in a lower corner but that is up to you. Just make sure your images contain your website address. URL and website address are one and the same, in case you were wondering.
WHY?
The reason to do this is so that when any of your images appear across the web, those who see them will know how to find your website. GOOGLE has a huge image section and when your images show up in search results, you want to make it very easy for people to find your website and visit.

WHAT TO DO #2
Include your social media links on your business card even if you must list them on the back of your card. List the URLs of your social media profiles.
WHY?
This will add credibility to you and make it very easy for others to ask questions or engage in conversation with you.

WHAT TO DO #3
Use social media to share your knowledge with your audience. It might seem counter-intuitive to give away your expertise free when your business model is based on coaching and teaching others. However, you need to show your audience that you have powerful solutions for them. Demonstrate that you are highly knowledgeable and capable of helping them.
#1 Reason clients hire a coach?
They are convinced the coach can help them.
As a coach, counselor or expert in your specialty, you will probably get questions from your audience, with whom you should always connect whenever possible. Be as helpful as you can be and it will help you build great relationships with them, as well as demonstrate that you are the perfect coach or counselor for them.
--------
Share valuable and pertinent content on your social media platforms. This content can include articles, e-books, and white papers and so forth that you create. Make sure the content is relevant to the problems your audience is currently experiencing.
This is another method for increasing your credibility to your ideal customer or client. It will also let them know that you understand exactly where they are coming from and assure them that you can help them.
--------
WHAT TO DO #5Share your content across all of the social media platforms you engage in. As of this writing, the top three social media for coaches are Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Create it once and re-purpose it in a variety of venues.
A smart marketing strategy is to make it appear that you are everywhere, without having to be everywhere all at once. Pick your social media options carefully and work them consistently. It won’t be long before you start seeing results.
--------
Social media will give you a great platform to promote your coaching or counseling business and grow your online presence. With social media you can create a larger, more highly-engaged audience as well as boost your influence and find more customers or clients.
